A Casper couple has been charged with possession of methamphetamine in liquid form and possession in crystalline form after a WYO 59 traffic stop.
Austin Ideen, 23, and Trista Nyman, 19, were traveling north when a Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper observed the vehicle speeding 75 mph before dropping to 63 mph in a 50 mph zone, according to court documents.
Ideen had a warrant from Natrona County for probation violation on an original charge of possession of meth, according to court documents.
Ideen was arrested for the warrant and during a search a capped empty syringe was found in his front pocket. A K-9 unit was alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. A search allegedly revealed two small plastic jars with a residual amount of methamphetamine, a small plastic tooter straw and a pink glass bong with liquid.
Police also recovered a storage container for the glass bong, another small plastic tooter straw and four more empty capped syringes.
Troopers spoke with Nyman who allegedly admitted to having meth crystals in a plastic bag. The bag weighed 1.2 grams, according to court documents.
The possession of more than three-tenths grams of methamphetamine in liquid form charge is punishable by a maximum of seven years in prison and a $15,000 fine.
Possession of methamphetamine in powder or crystalline form is punishable by up to one year in prison and a $1,000 fine.
Ideen and Nyman have been bound over to Eighth Judicial District Court to stand trial.
