Unapproved Minutes, Board of Commissioners of Converse County, September 10, 2025

The Special Meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. on Sept. 10, 2025. Present were Commission Chairman Jim Willox; Vice-Chairman Rick Grant; Commissioners Robert Short, and Donald Blackburn; County Clerk, Karen Rimmer. Kim Pexton, City of Douglas Mayor, was also present. The Commissioners, along with Ms. Pexton, who collectively comprised the Interview Committee for the joint appointment to the Wyoming State Fair Board, conducted interviews with four applicants for the vacant position on the board. Following the interviews, Mr. Grant moved to appoint Mr. Jerimiah Darr to the Wyoming State Fair Board for the remainder of a four-year term through September 2026 as recommended for the remainder of a four-year term from Sept. 2025 to Sept. 2026; Mr. Short seconded. Mr. Willox thanked all the applicants and stated for the record that this was a very difficult decision due to the high-quality pool of candidates. He further stated that the City of Douglas will be acting on the recommendation at an upcoming Special Meeting as well. No further discussion and motion carried. The Special Meeting adjourned at 6:12 p.m.  A regular meeting of this Board will be held Friday, September 19, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. unless otherwise posted at the Converse County Courthouse, Commission Chambers, 107 N. 5th Street, Douglas, Wyoming. The public is invited to attend. To be on the agenda, call the Clerk’s Office by the Thursday before the meeting.
