CC hockey gains worldwide eyes

This week’s biggest question is whether Converse County residents will step up and support the hockey rink and hockey program. All it will take is to log on to www.KraftHockeyville.com and vote. Heck, you can even vote up to 50 times on just by clicking over and over again. It’s a simple task, and given the amount of time people spend staring at kittens slurping strange-colored liquid in punch bowls on Facebook, you would think actually helping out our communities would rank right up there.

By the time you read this, the first round of voting will be almost over and we will know the answer. The test, though, really isn’t about hockey. It’s about us. It’s about what we think is worth spending a few minutes of our time doing. It’s about actually doing a little something to support a worthwhile program that benefits youth throughout the county over and over again.

But, if we cannot even be bothered to do this one little kind act, then we fail the test. We fail our youth and the hockey parents, most assuredly, but most of all, we fail ourselves. We show that staring blindly at kittens is a better use of our time and energy. We can’t do that to ourselves. Or can we?
