Things are starting to get glittery around the Converse County Library Glenrock!

Our December Jingle Books Sale is going on through Saturday, Dec. 10 during business hours in the Magenta Room downstairs.

There are lots of opportunities to help out folks in our community this year and the library is kind of a one-stop giving location. In addition to the mitten tree, we also have a silver tree, with opportunities to help out a senior citizen in town.

TREE FESTIVAL

We have a Festival of Trees going on at the library this month. Individuals, organizations and businesses may bring in a themed tree and display it for the public.

So far, we’ve gotten entries from ABATE, Glenrock Main Street, 4-H, Crossroads Veterinary Services, and The Glenrock Volunteer Fire Department, to name just a few.  Please come take a look!

BOOKS N BREWS

The Glenrock Library Book & Brew Club are meeting tonight, Dec. 7at 6:30 p.m. at the Higgins Hotel. We will be discussing Winter Street by Elin Hilderbrand, and The Crocodile on the Sandbank by Elizabeth Peters.

COME SEE SANTA

Santa will make an appearance at our Children’s Christmas Party Dec. 10 from 10 to 11 a.m. Bring the kids and join us for refreshments!

ART EXHIBITION

Remaining events include an impressive art exhibit starting Dec. 14 through January of 2023, titled “Altars of Reconciliation,” presented by CIVA.

RIDE THE

POLAR EXPRESS

The big news is that our Polar Express City Lights Bus Tour is returning this year, thanks to the generosity and community spirit of our Converse County School Districts, which are providing the buses and drivers for us!

The Polar Express City Lights Bus Tour will be in Douglas Dec. 13 and in Glenrock on Dec. 15.

There will be limited seats available for three departures each evening, at 5 p.m., 6 p.m, and 7:30 p.m. We encourage families to dress in warm jammies and come in early to enjoy cocoa and cookies before boarding the bus, which travels around town while people sing Christmas carols and look at holiday lights. The event is free. We recommend you reserve your seats.

LIFT YOUR SPIRITS

We will host a Solstice Spirits Mixology Class taught by Jacey Bauman from the College Inn in Douglas for adults on Monday, Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. We ask that you sign up in advance for that event as well.

If anyone is interested in joining the fun, call 436-2573 or email tlehner@conversecountylibrary.org to reserve your spot now!
