Nawmashkar! Hello in Bengali - hindu from the library!

Read Me A Story for February 27 to March 6: Martin’s Big Words by Doreen Rappaport. This is to celebrate. Pick up the phone this week and listen to a story for a change! Call 436-2353.

As of today, the United States Olympic team has 34 medals overall, eight bronze, 13 silver and 13 gold! Hope all of you were able to catch some of the winter games in Vancouver. We are going to be having our own winter fun at the library during story time. Come join us for a fun filled morning of stories, craft and a game or two. Starting time is 10 a.m. March 3.

Put on your red and white stove hats and come visit us on March 6, for our annual Dr. Seuss Day. Dr. Seuss turns 106! Ms. Cindy Allen will be reading our favorite Dr. Seuss.

As you enter the library this month, your eyes will be drawn to our brilliantly done bulletin board. With the collaboration of Rena and Margaret, they have put together a bulletin board to arouse your curiosity about our infamous Community Cookbooks. Yes, we are taking orders for them as I write. Come in and put your name down for one, two or even more. The Library Foundation Board will be very grateful for your order. This benefits the library endowment fund.

There’s an old legend that has its roots in the stars. An interesting fact as told by Jack Horkheimer. He hosts the series “StarGazer” which appears on PBS. He tells us that if you go out and look at the night sky on March 1, you will see Aries, the ram, in the western horizon. Leo, the lion, will be opposite on the eastern horizon. As March comes to an end Leo will be overhead and Aries on the western horizon. So, how all that fits into the legend I do not know but it ends by saying that, it goes without saying the end of the month will be milder than the beginning. Whoever predicted this doesn’t live in Wyoming!

Check out our star gazing books and make your prediction; will March go out like a lion or a lamb? We will be calculating to see what conspires by the end of the month. Recognition will go to the group who makes the right prediction and will be given the titles of the official Glenrock Branch Library weather persons. Have a happy March!
