Republicans Ready to Caucus

Bookmark and Share

This Saturday, March 6, the Converse County Republican Party will be holding its precinct caucuses at Eastern Wyoming College from 1-3 p.m. Why should you spend two hours of your weekend time to go to a caucus? What is a caucus anyway? Why should you care?

“It is an opportunity to not only voice their opinions and vision of the party, but to actually be part of any change they would like to see,” Converse County Republican Party Chairman Susan Sherwood said.

All registered Republicans are invited to attend Saturday’s caucus. Voting delegates to the March 20 county convention will be elected. A number of other activities can take place at that time as well, such as alterations to the county bylaws and the proposal of platform planks, or alterations thereof.

"It’s been exciting to see so many new faces getting involved in politics and the political process. The sleeping giant has been awoken. I hope he comes to the caucus,” explained Sherwood, who was also a founding member of the 912 Project/ Tea Party in Casper.
